The Grove is a grade II*-listed former country estate that has been remodelled to create a luxury hotel with leisure facilities. The job also involved rebuilding demolished wings in matching brickwork. The judges were impressed by the giant brick pilasters with entablature on the garden elevation, which was delivered to site in two-storey high prefabricated brick sections. prefabrication ensured the quality of the intricate detailing of these panels.
