¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ International is to relocate its printing facilities across the UK leaving its Wapping site ripe for development.
Rupert Murdoch is to close his printing plant at Wapping and invest £600m in new production plants in Enfield, Glasgow and Knowsley, near Liverpool.
The move by ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ International will open up the redevelopment of Wapping although the editorial offices of newspapers such as The Sun and The Times will remain on the site.
¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ International is hoping to offset the cost of new facilities by using the surplus land at Wapping for residential and commercial office space.
