The southern market may be slowing but Berkeley Group is still feeding its development pipeline, with the highest number of approvals in April. Overall, the emphasis has moved away from London and the South-east, with most approvals being won in the West Midlands and the North-west.
New-build completions
Private completion numbers are continuing to increase overall, but housing association totals are down, according to NHBC statistics. With sales in March and April dropping to around the 500-unit mark, private housebuilders have little reason to cheer.
NHBC is the standard setting body and leading warranty and insurance provider for new homes in the UK. Established 65 years ago, its primary purpose is to help raise the standard of new homes and to provide consumer protection for new homebuyers.
NHBC statistics are derived from NHBC registered builders, who build approximately 85% of new homes throughout the UK. NHBC provides detailed, up to date bulletins on new home construction through its quarterly statistics booklets. For further information visit the website at www.nhbc.co.uk
