Sir Robert McAlpine and Laing head down the monthly table, but Bovis Lend Lease stays on top over the year.
Who says it's grim up north? Major contracts in Manchester, Durham, Hull and Edinburgh contributed to HBG's surge to the top spot in the monthly contractors table.

The largest contract was a 拢24m retail park for developer Chartwell Land in Manchester.

Unusually, Bovis Lend Lease was nowhere to be seen in the monthly chart. Laing, January's frontrunner, also sank without a trace in February.

The poor month meant little to Bovis Lend Lease's yearly position, where it remains about 拢600m ahead of Skanska. Laing, however, slipped from 7th to 13th.

It was a case of d茅j脿 vu in the architect, client and QS charts, with HOK International, the Department of Health and Davis Langdon & Everest retaining their leads.
