Tool hire firm Speedy has created a consultancy division to advise on site waste management, sustainability and health and safety, which will grow to 鈥渟everal hundred鈥� over the next
few years.

The creation of the Advisory Services division is part of a broader move out of plant hire and into the support services market.

The heads of the division include Alan Fletcher, a former environmental director at Halcrow, and Andy Camfield, previously head of health, safety and environment at EC Harris.

In a trading update on Tuesday, rival HSS Hire reported revenues of 拢126.6m for the first nine months of 2010, an increase of 13% from 拢111.9m from the same period
last year.
